Timeless Data Archiving

Millenniata is the first and only provider of a permanent, backwards compatible archiving solution for the digital age.

Data or images written to a Millennial DiscTM with our drive can be preserved for up to a thousand years, making it virtually permanent by modern standards.

The Millennial Disc looks like the familiar CD-ROM or DVD, but the patented technology used to create the disk is different. Millennial Discs, which can be read by existing disk drives, provide for the nearly permanent preservation of digital data.

Although existing CD media storage is popularly considered to be more permanent than its predecessors, tests demonstrate it has only about a 10-year shelf life. That’s why many of today’s businesses and organizations — including health care, government, military, genealogical, financial, legal, historical and entertainment entities — are constantly re-writing billions of gigabytes of archival data.

We have developed a Write Once Read ForeverTM DVD made from materials that are known to be capable of enduring over 1,000 years. Research to this point has produced optically-recorded bits with optical contrast superior to that of today’s DVD-R technology; this optical contrast will not degrade with the passage of time. Our Millennial WriterTM uses a higher energy laser to ablate a dark glassy surface. These Millennial DiscsTM will be readable in all current DVD readers.

Named for the new millennium, the Millennial DiscTM truly provides Timeless Data Archiving®.
